History of Pet Airways
Pet Airways was the brainchild of Dan and Alysa Wiesel. In 2001 they found themselves traveling back and forth to Florida from California, but Zoe, their Jack Russell Terrier was a bit too big to fit under the seat. After a tense-filled trip with Zoe in cargo, Dan said there has to be a better way, and the idea of Pet Airways was born.
In 2009, after years of planning, Pet Airways took to the skies. We had one goal in mind, and that was the safe and comfortable transportation of our four legged family members. Read more...
Recently, there was a posting on Facebook regarding a military family that was relocated to another base. The posting went on to say that the military contracts with a certain airline for the relocation, but the airline had a policy of not accepting “aggressive breeds” of dogs. This family had an “aggressive breed” dog.
When Pet Airways was up, flying and transporting pets, we faced this same issue and early on we set up a policy that we did not discriminate against any pet, no matter what breed.
