The Flying Cat
As the author of 19 books on cats and dogs, I find myself hopping airplanes frequently to make presentations about pets all over North America. Usually, I fly solo and hire a professional pet sitter to take care of my two cats and my two dogs.

Dogs and Cats Don't Travel Well in Cargo
At Pet Airways we constantly hear stories from the people we meet telling us about how terrible it was to put their dog in the dark, loud and hot cargo compartment; about the stories dogs that chewed through their pet carriers and even got loose on the tarmac, or that another piece of luggage hit the pet carrier and broke it causing injury to a pet. It is these stories that we hate to hear but it is also these stories that have pushed us to make a difference in the way your dog or cat travels.
A Pet Airline - It's About Time
Since launching our site a few weeks ago, we have been getting emails from all over the country regarding our upcoming service.
People are sharing stories with us about how they wouldn't put their pet in cargo, and so they drove across country. One person actually put in 6,000 miles on the road with her pet one year.
Jet Blue Confirms the need for Pet Travel
Over the last couple of days since Jet Blue announced their JetPaws service, we’ve received a bunch of emails. It is gratifying to know that Jet Blue has also found there are many pet parents out there who want to take their pets with them when they fly. (We find it kind of coincidental that they launched this program just after we announced the launch of Pet Airways!)
We’ve always been a proponent of travelling with your pet — that’s one of the reasons we created Pet Airways.
Safe Pet Travel Arrives. Pet Airways Launches Web Site
Last week we launched the Pet Airways website. And we are already getting an incredible positive response.

We have spent years researching and talking with vets around the world about topics like this. Throughout our studies we have found that the most common tranquilizer is H-acepromazine. H-acepromazine has been found to have the following VERY serious consequences for traveling pets:

Welcome to Pet Airways
Welcome to Pet Airlines!
We’re glad you found us, and we hope that we change the way you travel with your pets.
Until now, unless your pet was one of the fortunate ones that could fit under your seat, pets have been shoved into the cargo hold of planes. I don’t think we need to go into details, but try sitting in your car on an average day and see how hot it gets. Now imagine you’re in the belly of an aluminum plane for several hours.
As pet lovers, we realized we need a better solution. So we created Pet Airways.
