Since launching our site a few weeks ago, we have been getting emails from all over the country regarding our upcoming service.
People are sharing stories with us about how they wouldn't put their pet in cargo, and so they drove across country. One person actually put in 6,000 miles on the road with her pet one year.
We have a good friend, a very famous hollywood celebrity, that would love to have his dog Maya with him in Los Angeles (he resides in Arkansas), but will not subject Maya to either the road trip or the cargo hold. We heard through the grapevine that he is very sad at having to leave his buddy at home.
And on it goes with the outpouring of emails.
We have also heard from Rescue Organizations on the need to be able to send pets across the country for adoption. As corporate policy, Pet Airways is very concerned about the euthenasia of pets, and we are committed to help. We are creating a special program with our partner Best Friends http://www.bestfriends.org/ to save as many pets as we can by making available any empty space on our planes to move rescue pets to new homes.
Pet Airways would like to thank all those that called or wrote to us. Please keep it up. If you have a story that you want to share, send us a picture of you and your pet and a quick story and we'll try and put it up on the site.
Also, please spread the word about us. We want to make pet travel pleasant for all pets. Our Pet Airline is for pets, but pet parents would also sure feel better to know their pets are in good hands.
