Dear Pet Lovers,
Last night we received a disturbing call from Christie in Tampa who has been receiving emails about the shipment of a puppy that was basically being held hostage “at our agency” and that told her to send money for the release of the pet to her. The email claimed to be from “pet-air-international” coming from the email pet-air-interantional@fastmail.com and referred to our website as their own. The email went on to explain that their customer service phones were down, release of the pet was conditional upon paying charges of $120 and should be sent by moneygram addressed to a Rojelio Madonado in Diamond Bar California because of the recession, credit card processing was taking 3 days to verify.
Just by reading the above, you can see that this is a terrible scam being played on unsuspecting people who are looking to have a pet.
PET AIRWAYS IS IN NO WAY RELATED TO THIS ENTITY.
All our flights are paid in advance by credit cards that process immediately or there is no reservation made and no pet accepted, we are not flying yet, and would never hold any pet as ransom.
We are looking into ways to stop these people from pretending to be Pet Airways.
