About Pet Airways:
Pet Airways is the first airline exclusively dedicated to pets, where our pet "pawsengers" fly in the main cabin, not in cargo. We take the job of providing a safe and comfortable experience for our pawsengers very seriously. Our planes are specially equipped - fully-lit, climate-controlled and pressurized - with a trained pet attendant on duty at all times. Pet Airways launched in 2009, and provides coast-to-coast service from Los Angeles, Phoenix, Denver, Omaha, Chicago, Washington DC, New York, Atlanta and Ft Lauderdale.
We have several positions available:

1. Pet Lounge Attendant (Part Time)

Pet Airways is the first pet-only airline, where pets fly in the main cabin, not in cargo. As a Pet Lounge Attendant you're responsible for checking in our "pawsengers," and ensuring they're in the proper carrier with the necessary items for their trip, such as a collar with ID clearly stated, health certificates and vaccination information, medication if needed, food, toys, leash, etc

Responsibilities:
Job duties include, (but aren't limited to):
  • Ensuring carriers are clean, disinfected and ready for pawsengers
  • Securing all related travel paperwork to carriers
  • Marking carriers and luggage for the proper destination
  • Confirming reservations and check-in documents
  • Providing TLC to our pawsengers before boarding the plane
  • Walking, cleaning, feeding, watering and administering medication to pawsengers when needed
  • Assisting in-flight pet attendants with loading and unloading pawsengers onto plane, (pets will be in their assigned carriers)
  • Monitoring pawsengers and reporting behavior before flight to in-flight pet attendant
  • Communicating to in-flight attendant about pawsengers needs during flight
  • Attending training when necessary
  • Providing assistance to pilots when needed
  • Maintaining a clean and functional lounge
  • Providing courteous and professional attention to pet parents
  • Being on call when needed
  • Answering customer service calls and email inquires
Qualifications:
  • Previous pet handling experiences in a professional environment is required. (E.g. veterinary office staff, vet technicians, pet boarding, pet grooming, pet day care.
  • Ability to administer a variety of medications (orally or by injection)
  • Prefer vet tech certification but not essential (definitely a plus)
  • Have a positive attitude along with a kind and caring nature
  • Demonstrate increasing responsibility in previous jobs
  • Computer skills and experience with MS Office
  • Ability to work well with others and especially with all types of pets
  • Outgoing personality with a strong sense of responsibility and maturity
  • No allergies to pets (of course)
  • Willing to work nights and off hours
  • Must absolutely be committed to the welfare of our pet pawsengers
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs
Salary commensurate with experience. This is a part-time position and shifts may vary depending on flight schedules.

2. In-Flight Pet Attendant - Full-time

Pet Airways is the first pet-only airline, where pets fly in the main cabin, not in cargo. As an In-flight Pet Attendant you're responsible for the comfort and safety of our all pet "pawsengers." You'll travel across the U.S. with our pawsengers while caring for their needs on board the plane.

Responsibilities: Job duties include, (but aren't limited to):
  • Ensuring cabin is clean and ready for loading of pawsengers
  • Confirming pawsenger list and securing pawsengers for take off and landings
  • Assisting ground-based pet attendants with loading and unloading pets onto plane
  • Monitoring pets during flight and during ground "potty breaks" to ensure their comfort, including providing water or food, administering medications (if needed), cleaning, and walking them during ground potty breaks
  • Communicating with staff about pet needs and flight progress
  • Traveling to destinations for flight departures when necessary
  • Attending training when necessary
  • Providing assistance to pilots as needed
  • Being on call as needed
Qualifications:

3. Pet Lounge Supervisor (Part Time)
Pet Airways is the first pet-only airline, where pets fly in the main cabin, not in cargo. As a Pet Lounge Manager you're responsible for managing all aspects of pet lounge operations including managing staff, monitoring pet "pawsengers" checking-in and checking-out, organizing and supervising loading and unloading, working with customers by email and phone, looking after pets (feeding, watering, administering medications, cleaning, walking) and communicating with staff about pet needs.<

Responsibilities: Job duties include, (but aren't limited to):
  • Managing pet lounges to ensure they're running efficiently and follow company guidelines
  • Training new lounge pet attendants
  • Preparing and circulating the final pawsenger manifest to other lounges and in-flight pet attendants
  • Managing and providing guidance to pet attendants in other lounge locations
  • Ensuring carriers have been cleaned and disinfected and ready for pawsengers
  • Securing all related travel paperwork to carriers
  • Marking carriers and luggage for the proper destination
  • Confirming reservations and check-in documents
  • Providing TLC to our pawsengers before boarding the plane, and after arrival
  • Assiting in-flight pet attendants with loading and unloading pawsengers
  • Monitoring pawsengers and reporting behavior before flight to in-flight pet attendants
  • Communicating to in-flight attendant about pawsengers needs during flight
  • Coordinate with other lounges on necessary pawsengers paperwork
  • Attending training when necessary
  • Providing assistance to pilots when needed
  • Maintaining a clean and functional lounge
  • Providing courteous and professional attention to pet parents
  • Being on call when needed
  • Answering customer service calls and email inquires
Qualifications:

Previous management of a vet or kennel facility, able to lead and manage a staff in various locations, results-oriented, well organized, able to multi-task and remain calm under pressure. Professional and mature demeanor, strategic thinker, a positive role model and mentor.
