The Zoe Fund has been set up to fly pets from a shelter in one city where the chances are slim for adoption, to another city where the chances are greater. Additionally, the fund provides for evacuation flights during national disasters, and for other pet life-saving flights. A Letter From Our Founders Dear Pet Lover, Like you, we know how rewarding it is to be a pet parent. We lost Zoe, the Chief Executive Pet of Pet Airways, and the inspiration for our business, last year, but she enriched our lives immeasurably and we still think of her every day. We got Zoe as a puppy and she lived with us for 18.5 wonderful years. Unfortunately, not all of Zoe’s fellow pets are as fortunate as she was. A great number of cats and dogs end up in shelters all across the country, for many different reasons. In fact, eight million pets find themselves in shelters each year. Fortunately, most of these shelters—often with the help of other great rescue organizations—find many pets new homes. But sometimes shelters struggle to find homes for pets in their own cities and towns. The sad thing is, even though there may be a better chance for a pet to be adopted in a different city, most of the pets in shelters have no way of getting there. That is why we have established a fund in Zoe’s name, to help offset the cost of flying pets to cities and shelters where they stand a better chance of finding their perfect pet parents. We believe every pet should have the chance to enrich someone’s life the way Zoe did ours. Please donate what you can to help our friends in shelters, and bring them one step closer to their forever homes. Dan and Alysa |
