Pet Rescue Program

If you are adopting a pet from a Shelter, Pet Airways will discount the one-way ticket by 50%.

Our team at Pet Airways is dedicated to providing all pets in shelters the best chance for a happy Forever After. We recognize that many pets would have a better chance to be adopted if distance was not an issue. To solve this problem Pet Airways has created the Pet Airways’ Pet Rescue Program.

The Pet Rescue Program is Pet Airways’ way of helping in the fight to stop euthanasia of pets in shelters. By providing an easy and affordable way to transport shelter pets across the country, distance is no longer a hindrance in the adoption process.

How the Program works

  1. Find a pet in a shelter that you want to adopt.
  2. Call the Pet Airways Shelter Coordinator to make a "Standby Rescue Ticket Request"
  3. The Pet Airways Coordinator will ask you to provide documentation from the Shelter that the pet is indeed a rescue and that the Shelter is really a shelter.
  4. You will need to provide this documentation at least 5 days prior to the flight date.
  5. Once we receive the documentation, Pet Airways will convert the "Standby Rescue Ticket Request" into a regular ticket on our next available flight. (Seats are on a space available basis)
  6. Pet Airways will request that you allow us to take a picture of you and your rescued pet and allow us to show the world what a great thing you have done.
  7. The Shelter will be responsible to make sure that the pet is brought to our Pet Lounge in time for their flight.         

Program Rules

  1. Shelters must be either an Adopt A Pet recognized shelter and have rescued the pet, or a bona fide rescue group.
  2. Adopting parent and or the Shelter must provide documentation from the shelter that the pet is a rescued pet.
  3. Shelter must bring the pet to the airport for the flight.
  4. Reservations are on seat available basis.
  5. Pet Airways reserves the right not to transport a pet for any reason.
  6. All pets must be current with all vaccinations as outlined in the Health Requirements on the Pet Airways Website.
